Three years ago, when I told my doctor I'd been eating carnivore for six months, she was appalled and said (a) that I needed to go on a statin immediately and (b) that my arteries were likely to be all clogged up. I asked her if there was a way to check this and she said yes, she'd send me for a CAC score. When I returned to her for the result, she told me with disappointment in her voice that my score was perfect at zero. However, not to be defeated, she said that I was probably getting blockages in my other main arteries - carotid and renal. So she sent me out to have these scanned. Once again they showed no plaque build-up at all. She has stopped urging me to take a statin. 🙂
